My favorite book is the series of The Body Finder by
Kimberly Derting. I loved this book because it always kept me on my seat and
you never expected anything to happen. The main character Violet was always
doing adventurous things and was not afraid to do things, even if she knew that
it might get dangerous. She was able to sense dead people, so things always
were mixed up
My favorite genre of books is realistic fiction because
those books are the easiest to relate to. When I know something cannot actually
happen in real life, I have a hard time being able to relate to how to
character is feeling about something.
The book I am currently reading is called Perfect Match
by Jodi Picoult. In the book, the main
character is a woman named Nina who is a lawyer for kids that have been abused.
She deals with these cases everyday and does not think anything more of them
until it happens to her own child. She is determined to find out who did this
to her child, which causes her to do crazy things. On top of that, her son
Nathaniel will not talk. His doctor has to try to get him to speak through sign
language. That is when they find out he was abused by his father. Nina goes off
the edge and files restraining orders on him, but does not get why Nathaniel
keeps signing that he wants his dad back. They find out he meant to sign for
father as in priest not father as in his dad. Nina now is determined as ever to
find out which priest it is. As time goes on Nathaniel learns to speak again
and identifies the abuser as Father Glen. Patrick, a close friend of Nina has,
goes to ask the priest questions, and later arrests him without getting a real
confession. When the priest goes to court, Nina shows up a little late. This is
very unusual because the priest is on trial for killing her son. That is when once the trial is going on; Nina
pulls out a gun and shoots the priest in the head. The courthouse goes into a
wild rampage and she is forced down to the ground by Patrick. She is taken to
the holding cell where she is now on the other side of the table. Now she is
being charged with murder. Nina has been asked many questions that she is
normally the one asking. This is confusing to her because she wants to be the
one in charge but she is not.
Nice job Bri!
